Jorge Saavedra F.
 
 
Jorge Saavedra F. was born in Chile. His family immigrated to the US when he was 8 years old. Jorge arrived in Minneapolis to attend the University of Minnesota where he earned a BA in International Relations. He obtained a law degree from Hamline University in St. Paul. In 2002 Hamline recognized Jorge with its Distinguished Alumni Award. 

For six years, Jorge served as the Executive Director and Chief Legal Officer of Centro Legal, Inc., a nonprofit community law office that provides legal assistance and advocates on behalf of low-income Latinos in Minnesota. 

He was the National Director of the Nonprofit Voter Engagement Network, a national non-partisan effort to mobilize nonprofit organizations across the country to bring new voters from underrepresented communities to the polls. 

In 2006, Jorge was a candidate for the US Congress in the Fifth District. Jorge’s campaign brought a community voice to Minnesota politics and his campaign mobilized new participants to join the political process. 

Jorge also served as the Executive Director of the Headwaters Foundation for Justice. A foundation that supports grassroots organizations fighting for social and economic justice across the State of Minnesota. 

Currently, Jorge is the founder of the Saavedra Law Firm PLLC, a law practice in Golden Valley where he serves the legal needs of individuals and business organizations.
